An inspirational , busy week in October

Sun setting Blencathra , Oil on Board Size 11 x 9 inches framed £95

Thought I would share a week of painting and inspiration, the colours here in the Lakes are stunning at the moment, I'm just hoping that there may be some leaves left on the trees after the stormy weekend we are having. The sunsets are a joy to behold and I'm quite surprised how the setting sun in June was behind Carrock Fell as now moved to between Blencathra and Skiddaw.

A visit to Scott, my framer at Threlkeld to pick up 'Summer Blooms, Yorkshire Dales' and here it is about to be hung at Tael Gallery in Bedale, North Yorkshire. I loved painting a different format , the gorgeous rows of Fields and Buttercup fields around Wensleydale was the inspiration, and a reminder on those Grey days we get over Winter, that something cheerful is round the corner.

Wednesday found me meeting up with a dear fellow artist at Grasmere, we splashed through mud, sat in the rain under a wonderful fir tree trying to keep a watercolour sketch dry, saw two red Squirrel's and a couple of Woodpeckers and thoroughly enjoyed the Autumn splendour of Grasmere.

Started a watercolour of beautiful Lake Iseo, played the rock sounds of Zucchero while sketching and starting to bring this watercolour to life from memories of warm sunny days spent beside the lake painting.

A very varied week, lets see what November brings
