Ashness Bridge Watercolour tutorial.

Ashness Bridge

Painted in Watercolours

Delighted to receive an email this morning with feedback for my Ashness Bridge Tutorial.

If you fancy getting the paints out on this cold January day and not sure what to paint , why not take a look at my Tutorial page for inspiration :-)

Recent Review of Ashness Bridge: Painting this scene was a great way to spend some time, whilst it was cold and snowy outside. It was about three months since I last painted, so this was a pleasant reminder how much I enjoy it.
There were many different textures in this scene such as water, stone and trees. I hope I was able to reflect these in the picture.
I like the range of shades that can be achieved with so few colours. This project has taught me a lot about paint mixing and volume of water to use.

Happy 2026 the year to be inspired.

Towards Blencathra on Boxing Day.

January is the perfect month to try something new, or just spark up the inspiration for old hobbies.

I find I am more inspired now, after a few weeks off from painting.

Going for a walk certainly can help, fresh air and nature certainly help my mood swing in the right direction.

I'm going to get the paints out and have a go at capturing Blencathra from my walk on Boxing day , not quite made my mind up but think it will be in Oils.

I'll keep you posted on how it comes along.

Why not get the Watercolour paints out and have a go at one of my tutorials , Here is the link

Each project comes with personal feedback, written instructions, step by step video demonstration, sketches and material list. Everything you need to get some inspiration for the weekend.
